Heather Albert

I began my career in science, earning a Ph.D. in Microbiology, where I focused on drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. I spent countless hours in a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) lab—working with serious human pathogens, though not quite the full “space suit” required for Ebola. I loved the research, but after moving to Boise—a place I love—opportunities in my field were limited. That turning point led me to rethink my career path and consider how my analytical training could serve people more directly.

With my analytical skills, problem-solving passion, and growing interest in finance, I eventually found a new professional direction. My perspective was shaped years earlier, in high school, when my dad was diagnosed with a pituitary brain tumor at age 35. Despite multiple surgeries and complications, he lived until 61, though the tumor ultimately took him. Through his experience, I saw how vital a solid financial strategy can be. After his diagnosis, he could no longer buy additional life insurance—a protection he knew our family needed. While my parents had planned well for retirement, their situation showed me the importance of preparing for the “what if.” That lesson stayed with me and ultimately inspired me to help others secure their financial future.

Outside of work, I am a competitive cyclist, training year-round and racing in regional and national events. Cycling has taught me that success comes from preparation, persistence, and consistent effort. I bring the same focus and discipline to financial planning, helping clients stay on course and work steadily toward their goals.
